dear skydive chick: you are so fierce. you are my hero and my newest inspiration! i went skydiving for the first time ever this past saturday at skydive arizona in eloy, az (tandem, of course). it was INSANE and ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

i am officially hooked. i have been obsessing over it nonstop since that morning and i can't wait to go back.

i am also determined to get my A license and go through the AFF program that they offer at the skydive az dropzone. my only hangup is, you guessed it, the financial aspect. i'm a single mom and most of my money goes towards daycare and paying off the mountain of credit card debt i've built.

but i'm not going to let that stop me.

my other hangup is lack of self confidence. generally, i'm a pretty confident person. however, at the dz, while i found all of the jumpmasters and spectators alike to be equally lovely and welcoming, i still felt like a total n00b -- fish out of water. more than likely, when i sign up for the AFF program, i'll be going it alone. while my friends loved the tandem experience, i don't know that any of them are willing to devote the time and money to become licensed. so i won't know anybody there. being brand new (read: completely clueless) to this sport and being a female (which i am proud to call myself, but i noticed there were more guys than gals at the dz), i am a little apprehensive to jump in head first. do you have any advice on overcoming the initial lack of self confidence issue and just generally feeling like you are ridiculously eager but "in over your head"?

i am totally stoked about skydiving and looking forward to where this adventure will take me. thank you for providing an amazing skydiving blog from a female perspective.

love,
